How Ironic

Uncategorized

I am tired and ready to sit and catch up on the DVR and wouldn’t you guess that the sun comes out!  I am deciding whether I want to take that nap and relax, or go outside and take advantage of the sun!

When I got home for lunch I soon realized we don’t have much food around right now.  I made some oats and started the latest episode of Grey’s.

Oats, AB, Jelly, Cereal, Almonds.  I basically just threw anything I could find on top of my oats!

I may have bought at Kids Box of Chocolates when I stopped at the store.  These little guys will be enjoyed after lunch.

Check out this list of the 125 Healthiest Supermarket Foods from Eat This, Not That.  The list is quite extensive so browse around!

Okay, I am going to watch the rest of Greys then maybe motivate myself to workout!

Oats in My Lunch Box

Uncategorized

Almost a sad day here without bananas for my usual PB and Banana sandwich.  Luckily I had some overnight oats in the fridge that I didn’t have time to eat for breakfast.  I threw them in my lunch box with random snacks and ended up having a super filling lunch!

I apologize for quality of photos, it is my cell camera:

Getting ready to pack up.  I added a scoop of jelly and a scoop of peanut butter.  I also brought a little bag of Fiber One to put on top for crunch.

All mixed up and ready to eat.  I realize it isn’t the most appetizing looking meal, but it tasted good and filled me up!

Other random snacks thrown in the lunch bag:

  • 2 White cheddar Rice Cakes (told you I love these things!)
  • 1/2 Fiber One Bar (One of my many snacks last night)
  • 100 calorie pack of chocolate covered pretzels.  I have got to buy these portioned or I would give myself a belly ache!

Tonight is this lovely girl’s birthday-

We all have class in the evening, but we are doing a late dinner at El Patio.  Have any of my Houstonian readers had the blue margaritas there?  WOW!  As a girl who can hold her alcohol, half of one of those babies knocked me off my feet!

My goal is to not ruin my dinner with chips and salsa beforehand! That would probably be how I gained my TX Ten.  Those free chips and salsa are just irresistible to me and I end up eating so many I can barely touch my dinner.

Anyone else eat so many chips and salsa (or bread/oil, the non Texas version) before dinner that they can barely even dent their entree?

After posting I got my daily e-mail for Eat This, Not That by Men’s Health.  The topic today was 10 Ways to Eat healthy at a Mexican Cantina.  Since I will be eating at El Patio tonight I thought it was fitting to post a link to the slide show of tips!
