Why I Blog

Why I started Blogging:

I started this blog because I was unhappy with the Texas Ten I had gained.  I keep blogging because it is nice to have blog friends who support you, understand your weird love of endurance training pain, and who become your blog friends even when you are alone in a new city.  I also hope to entertain others who enjoy unfiltered, random, sometimes crude humor, and reflections on life.

The blogging world has given me the inspiration to run my first marathon, ride my first MS 150, and strive for ways to eat healthy while still enjoying life.

So I admit, the Texas Ten are still hanging on.  My abs aren’t as flat as a pancake anymore , but my body has done amazing things in the past few years.

Reasons I am Thankful for My Body & My Blog

  • Running my first marathon sub 4:30 (on the Austin hills)
  • Running back to back half marathons and placing in my age group
  • Walking up & down 5 flights of stairs with a 15lb book bag everyday in law school
  • Cycling 180 miles from Houston to Austin
  • Finding enough brain power to learn 3 years worth of law school
  • Having the ability to spit out an entire semester’s worth of knowledge in 3 hours
  • Giving me the ability to challenge my athletically inclined husband
  • Loving Green Monsters
  • Meeting people with the same passion for a healthy life
  • Having the mental and physical ability to sit through the Bar Exam
  • Hiking my first 14er (soon to come!)

i discovered your blog looking up egg whites and how to cook them because the only way i eat them is hard-boiled…and so it gets boring once in awhile.
i came across this and i have to say that YOU ARE IMPRESSIVE.

it’s nice to know there are people such as yourself who can do such difficult things like health and fitness.

i am SUPER into doing the same but when it comes to the food portion and allowing myself to indulge…i can never whip up cooking healthy food because i just like baking; i am still in the making of learning/wanting to cook healthier options after this semester ends, resulting in me returning home to embark my journey against every kind of food possible.

but anyway,i just wanted you to know that you are EXTREMELY MOTIVATIONAL!

thanks for blogging, eating healthy for others to look up to and exercising to wrap things up.

Thank you for the wonderful comment. I try very hard to eat healthy, fit in exercise, and still have fun…it is a balancing act. I notice that you bake, I envy those skills. I am going to try and bake, not burn, this winter break when I have time.
